City of Cincinnati’s Vice Mayor Christopher Smitherman’s office On Monday said the city’s manager and top prosecutor told his office that “all prosecutions/charges of 100 grams of marijuana or less in the City of Cincinnati will be dismissed immediately.” In a text exchange with ocbmagonline.com Smitherman also stated “We only control the City of Cincinnati prosecutors.” ” These charges are not handled by the county unless they include higher charges.”

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters stated earlier on that his investigators would continue to cite offenders under state law.

State troopers and sheriff’s deputies could also cite people under state law within city limits.

You could still be cited for possession, but you would not be fined and you would have no criminal record as a result. So there would be no reference to it required on any job application. Also, smoking marijuana is still illegal in Cincinnati city limits.
